Melissa has an extensive background in dance and is a graduate of Dance World Studios, Melbourne.
Melissa and studio owner Jenny danced together as teens. Both were accepted to train at the Victorian College of the Arts for their vocational RAD classical ballet examinations. Melissa also trained in Jazz, Tap, Hiphop, Contemporary and Acrobatics. Melissa received high marks in all her examinations and was often the leading dancer in her studios performances.
Since then, Melissa has been consistently working professionally around the world as a performer, dance and aerialist.
Starting her career at Tokyo Disney Sea, where she was the lead aerialist as Disneys popular princess Ariel, in the show “Under the sea”.
From there, Melissa also performed in Hong Kong Disneyland shows “The Golden Mickeys” and “The Festival of the Lion King”. Following that, Mel went on to work at Universal studios in Japan in the “Triwizard Cup” as a Beauxbaton.
In 2017 Melissa made her musical theatre debut in 9works theatrical production of Disneys “Newsies” where she performed the role of “Hannah” and the “Bowery Beauties”.
Recently Melissa was the dance captain for Okada Manilas entertainment group, where she performed various multiskilled shows and events around the venue, including aerial duo straps, duo hoop and aerial cage.
Melissa also got the opportunity to dance for American artist Cee Lo Green on New Years of 2020.
This year, Melissa was training to work as one half of a hand to hand acrobat duo. Training the show Euphoria with Le Farfadais company in Barcelona.
Melissa aspires to keep growing and developing as a performer, teacher and choreographer and is excited to be home and to share her passion.
